CONSTRUCTION QUALITY ENGINEER - MAIN CONTRACTOR - IRELAND 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Quality Auditor position plays a crucial role in the
implementation of the Project Quality Plan and the Company Quality
Management System.  

They Quality Auditor ensures that projects adhere to established
company quality and project standards and regulatory requirements
(BC(A)R).

This position involves monitoring and evaluating construction
processes, materials, and workmanship to guarantee the delivery of
high-quality projects. 

The Quality Auditor also has responsibility for assisting with
off-site inspections, and supplier audits as projects require.

Key responsibilities

Site safety is paramount, participation in the site safety program is
vital, as is being a safety leader on site and leading by example.

Quality Assurance:

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, develop and implement
quality assurance procedures and policies.

Conduct inspections and audits of construction sites per the agreed
audit schedule, ensuring compliance with industry standards, company
standards and project specifications.

Collaborate with site quality leads, project managers, engineers, and
other stakeholders to implement quality control processes.

Using the platforms specified, maintain detailed records of quality
inspections and audits.

Prepare comprehensive reports highlighting findings, deviations, and
recommended corrective actions.

Document and communicate quality-related issues to relevant project
team members.

Stay informed about relevant industry regulations, codes, and
standards, particularly BC(A)R.

Ensure that construction activities adhere to legal requirements and
safety standards.

Collaborate with regulatory bodies and third-party quality assurance
organizations as needed.

Provide training to construction personnel on quality standards and
best practices.

Offer guidance to project teams on implementing corrective and
preventive actions.

Foster a culture of quality consciousness within the organization.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in
quality management.

Propose and implement approved corrective and preventive actions to
address recurring issues.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented quality
measures.

Support the Quality Department in achieving department goals.

Support the Quality Champions and Leads.

Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and
subcontractors to address quality-related issues.

Collaborate with other departments, such as safety and environmental
teams, to ensure integrated project quality management.

Identify potential risks to quality early in the construction process.

Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to quality
control.

Contribute to the development of contingency plans for quality-related
issues.

REQUIREMENTS

Trade or engineering background.

*+ years’ experience working on a broad range
of construction projects

Certification in Internal Auditing.

Previous experience in construction quality assurance or a similar
role.

Knowledge of relevant construction codes, standards, and regulations
(BC(A)R).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Must be comfortable working at height. (MEWP, Scaffolds, Roof work).

Must be familiar with carrying out site inspections of multiple work
elements (e.g., roofing, flooring, concrete, earthworks, finishes,
and/or mechanical and electrical works).

Experience conducting client handover walks. 

PACKAGE

Competitive salary package negotiable based on candidates experience
and qualifications

Roles options available covering projects in Leinster and Munster

The role will be at least *% site based, at
various locations, with the remaining time office based either in the
Dublin or Cork offices. 

Travel outside of the auditor’s immediate geographical location will
be required, but ordinarily will be of short duration.
